Popps Goes the Weasel

7/8/2019

The Orthodox Christian Laity (OCL) has of late, found a new voice online. A voice of controversy. Its newly contrived and defective objective is to sow disunity under the guise of unity in America. This organization has devolved into a smear machine against the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. No honest individual can, even in a cursory  way, scrutinize the OCL website and not see the obvious anti-patriarchal predilections.

I recall conversations with OCL Executive Director George Matsoukas as far back as Orlando, FL 1998 with naïve anticipation of an honorable outcome. However, the OCL is garnering unadulterated ROCOR propaganda to shape a false narrative instead of serving Orthodoxy unity in America. Utilizing defamation and character assassination as the scribes and pharisees engaged in before Pilate, to promote their own interests, and rid themselves of one who spoke the truth. Shameful.

Reposting vulgarity from the Russian propaganda outlet, the Union of Orthodox Journalists, the tawdry editorials of multiple anonymous authors, and the slanders of Orthodox scandalmongers like Nick Stamatakis and George Karcazes, who reflect OCL’s subversive and atrocious agenda.  Let’s examine one such antagonist: Dean Popps.

The many deceitful obscenities written by Dean Popps are unwarranted and vicious. unable to contain himself, Dean maliciously attacks our new Archbishop. For example, Dean emits this gem “…the charming persona of this new, multi-lingual, rose petal covered, Turkish citizen archbishop and his Turkish government (Ministry of Civil Affairs) controlled boss, the Patriarch…” Dean’s comments are startling when compared to reality, part and parcel of a smear campaign.

Let’s review a few more ridiculous mendacities he was able to cram into a single article. Many OCL members suffer from what is known in the modern vernacular Constantinoplitan “derangement syndrome.” Dean panders to the lowest common denominator of regurgitated prejudicial posted on the 4th of July:

Dean says, “this archbishop has dishonored the very American flock he presumes to lead.”

The reality: Archbishop @Elpidophoros Jul 4
I grew up in a nation that doesn’t recognize #ReligiousFreedom. As Christians, #freedom must not be an excuse for laxity (Psalm 119:41-48). On this great day of freedom and Independence let us give thanks while remembering our @EcuPatriarch and everyone without freedom #4thofJuly

Dean says,
“The GOA of America functions like a latter-day Trojan Horse in this nation for the benefit of foreign interests.”

The reality:
The GOARCH has produced for the benefit of foreign interests the Metropolitans of Buenos Aries, Mexico, Sweden, London, the IOCC, Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC)…

Dean says,
“This archbishop, seeks a controlled, ethnophyletic, ghettoized, profit center with a 24-hour ATM for the foreign policy aims of Greece, Cyprus, and The Phanar.

The reality: at his enthronement His Eminence stated

“My aspiration is to plant and multiply their diverse gifts in the fertile soil of this church and land as I reach out in a dialogue of love and truth to our ecumenical and interfaith brothers and sisters…

I sincerely pledge to devote myself—with all my heart, soul and mind—to the reaffirmation and reinvigoration of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in order that we may collaborate with greater unity, while witnessing with greater conviction and credibility to the broader American society…

Our teaching is one in the sacraments and one in the life of the church; therefore, our preaching should also reflect the same unanimity and consensus in the culturally diverse and pluralistic world that we inhabit and share…

My heart is especially ready and steadfast to serve this Archdiocese and nation, both of which I have long admired since childhood…

…we must be a Church that embraces our young people, that embraces the strangers in our midst, that embraces all members of our community and our country.”

Dean says,
“The support given by the ordinary faithful enables this highly-suspect system to exist, and threatens our Republic”

The reality:
Beyond the ridiculous extrapolation the ordinary faithful offer the greatest gift we can offer at every service; we pray for our Country:
For our country, for the president, and for all in public service, let us pray to the Lord.
For this city, and for every city and land, and for the faithful who live in them, let us pray to the Lord.
For favorable weather, for an abundance of the fruits of the earth, and for peaceful times, let us pray to the Lord.

There is such a vast juxtaposition between Dean’s little mind and reality its baffling to consider. One thing for sure, Dean Popps has mastered the use of Ctrl+B.

“Seeking to destroy another person’s credibility and reputation in front of a few people for political gain is bad enough, but to do so on social media before thousands, repeatedly and ad nauseam to avoid the truth about your own credibility, is more than a cheap dirty trick.  It is unconscionable, and without integrity, but unfortunately not beneath Dean Popps and his cohorts at OCL.

Dear Archon Elias,
If you think OCL is bad, have you seen the swamp known as Monomakos? Those people are seriously mentally deficient. Thank you.
