“In moments of great suffering, we are called to be more than spectators. We are called to be Christ’s hands and feet in the world, extending compassion to those in need and being a beacon of hope amid the storm.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the Ecumenical Patriarchate's Hierarchs prayed for the victims and the responders providing aid:
Archbishop Elpidophoros of America
"On September 30, 2024, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America expressed his sorrow for the loss of life and destruction caused by Hurricane Helene. He asked for prayers for the victims and the responders."

Join the Relief Efforts for Hurricane Helene: Donate Your Time, Talent, and Treasure

As Hurricane Helene leaves behind a trail of destruction, the affected communities face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives. Homes have been destroyed, families displaced, and countless lives upended. In the face of such tragedy, now is the time for us to unite, offering whatever we can—our time, talent, and treasure—to support those who are suffering.

Among the organizations leading the charge in providing relief are the Greek Orthodox Relief Agencies, especially National Philoptochos and the International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC). These dedicated organizations have long been at the forefront of humanitarian aid, offering hope and healing in times of crisis. But they cannot do it alone; they need your help.

The Power of Your Time, Talent, and Treasure
  • Time: Volunteers are desperately needed to support relief efforts on the ground and behind the scenes. Whether through assembling aid packages, distributing supplies, or providing emotional support, your time is invaluable.
  • Talent: Do you have specialized skills? Medical professionals, engineers, and logistical coordinators are crucial in restoring order and providing care in devastated areas. Even if your talents lie outside these fields, there’s a place for you to help organize community efforts or raise awareness.
  • Treasure: Financial donations are the quickest way to make a direct impact. Relief organizations like National Philoptochos and IOCC have the infrastructure in place to get critical supplies and services where they are needed most.
How to Give

You can make your financial donation through the official websites of National Philoptochos or IOCC. Both organizations have set up dedicated funds to ensure that 100% of donations are directed towards the relief efforts for Hurricane Helene. No donation is too small—every contribution helps.
