What about OCA????????

7/11/2023

In a single day, I received more really vile hate mail per-capita-view than any other post...

Amongst the hundreds of email response to this meme I received this enquire from a Gail Sheppard (I think its one of the Lonely-fighter’s website).

What about Russia and the OCA???? [Emphasis with four question marks!]

The simplest answer would be: what about it? (Notice the refrained usage of, ?) Gail, I’m surprised you didn’t type in all caps. Being familiar with Orthodox Karens and to avoid their tactics of distraction, change-of-subject, obfuscation and overuse of red herrings, I choose to make my response public.
There is only one reality in Orthodoxy.

This initial epiphany stings a bit to neophytes but once the shock wears off, it’s simple and reassuring to believers. The unobstructed manifestation of the Orthodox Church is the Divine Liturgy.

Have you ever attended or watched a “Pan-Orthodox” Divine Liturgy, of all autocephalous primates? I have in person, several in fact (see pic below).

With all solemnity and according to the millennial-old tradition “The Diptychs” are pronounced in ecclesiastical order. Not some arbitrary edited list compiled by any singular patriarch removing names based on disagreements and non-dogmatic matters. Moscow, the originator of this innovation, is prone to delete entire patriarchates based solely on current events, petulance, or headship longings.

Whenever all autocephalous primates are concelebrating the Divine Liturgy there is one diptych recited. This is the diptych of the Orthodox Church. Which for your edification is the same one recited at every Divine Liturgy celebrated by the Ecumenical Patriarch -ο Πρώτος.

The Diptychs are not determined on-a-whim, removing whomever the particular primate determines unworthy evaluated on contemporary political expediency as is the habit of the local bishop of Moscow decrees based on the bidding of Russian politicians.

Sorry to inform you that Moscow’s former Metropolia, the OCA, has never been included even when Russian hierarchs participate...

I get the new Orthodox protestant informed “so-therefore” theologians and blogosphere antinomian pundits, like yourself, attempt to voice such ecclesiastic discernments like:
  • “ROCOR was recognized by Serbia, so-therefore…” or
  • “Moscow patriarch commemorates the OCA, so-therefore…” or the classic
  • “Nobody else was doing it, so-therefore…”
Truth is manifest in Orthodoxy’s Divine Liturgy not in the “so-therefore” ecclesiastic modifier popular in Muscovite cliques which is based on sentimentality, emotions/feelings, and ignoble desires, not on church canons.

This theological competency was developed in Orthodox Moscow and has everything to do with Moscow and nothing to do with Orthodoxy. It is huge in Kremlin manipulated Orthodox circles whether out of palpable self-interest (Antioch),  indispensable financial subsidy (Jerusalem) or some other misguided yet status-quo circumstance.

Bulgaria is an excellent example of both “benefits,” in this Russkiy mirk sphere.

Karen, I reiterate a more explicit Orthodox Truth: the Ecumenical Patriarchate thusly embodied by the Ecumenical Patriarch:
  • As Archbishop of Constantinople, he is “one among equals.”
  • As Patriarch of Constantinople, he is “first among equals.”
  • As Ecumenical Patriarch, he is “without equal,” in Orthodoxy -as endowed by the Ecumenical Council’s with privileges and rights no other Orthodox hierarch has and is manifest in the Divine Liturgy.

You don't have to guess where my confession resides.
Its in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church: Hellenic Orthodoxy.

You did not receive an "enquire' from me. You emailed me,

I had no idea what you were talking about and the only thing I thought I could comment on was the content on the graphic which you (or someone) copied and pasted of the Diptychs.

"What about the OCA???" was my way of asking you if you thought it was appropriate to add the OCA.
.
Karens are people who look for trouble. I wasn’t looking for anything, Elias. You emailed me.

Karens think they're experts. 4 words and question marks does not scream, “Look at me! I am the expert!”

I realize you're Greek, but in our vernacular, when someone draws a blank or is looking for confirmation, they use multiple question marks. Right???

I meant nothing by my question. I was trying to be nice by answering your email.
