When it comes to Nikos Stamatakis

Following a series of frantic phone calls and emails outraged by journalist Nick Stamatakis’ appearance on a local Greek tv program “Freedom of Opinion” (Ελεύθερη Γνώμη WPSO) with Angelos Aggelatos, who is no stranger to fomenting controversies in his own right, I decided to scrutinize the predisposition of his guest.

When it comes to Nikos Stamatakis, something the American philosopher Harry Frankfurt wrote comes to mind:
“When an honest man speaks, he says only what he believes to be true; and for the liar, it is correspondingly indispensable that he considers his statements to be false.

For the bullshitter, however, all bets are off: he is neither on the side of the true nor on the side of the false.

His eye is not on the facts at all, he does not care whether the things he says describe reality correctly. He just picks them out, or makes them up, to suit his purpose.”

Stamatakis is this classic “bullshitter.” His “constant yelping about a free press means, he has the freedom to peddle scandal, crime, hate, innuendo” and a self-described patriotism for which his opinion alone is worthy.

I have addressed his chronic offensiveness in the past:

Desperation of some...   -2018

Based in New York, this foreign national’s career centers on rumor and scandal, entirely disproportionate to any discernible end in view, seemingly fueled by deep-rooted resentment and indicative of a Napoleonic complex. His deliberate dishonesty presents stories in a way that are intended to provoke public outrage at the expense of accuracy. He does not let the facts get in the way of inciting albeit fabricated stories.

Stamatakis dissuades his reputation for pathological lying and mythomania. His pseudologia fantastica, is celebrated in an online ecosystem which thrives in sensationalism. Unable to maintain consistent employment he has recently brought together a syndicate of conspiracy theorists to form Helleniscope, a tawdry website embarked on a course of luridness. Simple rumormongering for self-gratifying attention seeking is the goal of this cabal.

Corroborated by his professional kindred malefactors like Nick Karakas, George Lykomitros, and Angelos Angelatos, Stamatakis surrounds himself with self-perceived champions of our truth and righteousness. Dubious characters reminiscent to those in Margaret Mitchell’s Gone with the Wind:
“The liar was the hottest to defend his veracity, the coward his courage, the ill-bred his gentlemanliness, and the cad his honor.”
These sycophants like dogs chewing endlessly on, and "picking clean," a large bone -Stamatakis and his cohorts endlessly try to redirect the narratives to benefit their self-interests. His rage is fixated on the Greek Orthodox Church. Not to say the past decade has not offered a fodder of financial disasters and improprieties, to deny this reality would be disingenuous, however, to repurpose an outlandish machination detailing a supposed secret ecumenist New World Order plot in the Greek Archdiocese is feeble.

The simplemindedness of his "Deep State" theories of Erdogan’s influence over the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Archdiocese of America benefit from centuries old difficulties and obvious prejudices found in our history. Stamatakis employs xenophobic dog whistles, clear manipulations of long-standing prejudices between neighboring nations, cultures, and religions. Low hanging fruit for any opinionated racist like Stamatakis.

Of striking depravity are his attacks against the Ecumenical Patriarch, Archbishop Elpidophoros, the Karloutsos family, and leadership of the Archdiocese. He does not lose any sleep slandering eminent parishes like Saint Nicholas National Shrine Ground Zero, Saint Demetrios in Astoria and others, confirming he has no idea what it takes to operate a local parish with large communities or tragic histories. If he had even an ancillary involvement with a local parish he would empathize and not pile on the already strenuous circumstances.

Dimokritos said: “Cheats and hypocrites are those who do everything with words and do nothing with actions.” Stamatakis is, all words and no action, all lies and no deeds, all sensationalism and no honor.

Say Oxi to sensationalism!   Say Oxi to lies!   Say Oxi to selfish men like Stamatakis!

A certain Greek ship bound for Athens was wrecked off the coast close to Piraeus, the port of Athens. Had it not been for the Dolphins, who at that time were very friendly toward mankind and especially toward Athenians, all would have perished. But the Dolphins took the shipwrecked people on their backs and swam with them to shore.

Now it was the custom among the Greeks to take their pet monkeys and dogs with them whenever they went on a voyage. So when one of the Dolphins saw a Monkey struggling in the water, he thought it was a man, and made the Monkey climb up on his back. Then off he swam with him toward the shore.

The Monkey sat up, grave and dignified, on the Dolphin’s back.
“You are a citizen of illustrious Athens, are you not?” asked the Dolphin politely.
“Yes,” answered the Monkey, proudly. “My family is one of the noblest in the city.”
“Indeed,” said the Dolphin. “Then of course you often visit Piraeus.”
“Yes, yes,” replied the Monkey. “Indeed, I do. I am with him constantly. Piraeus is my very best friend.”

Stamatakis should be locked up and put in jail for the lives he has destroyed. If anyone wants to learn the truth about this man they should speak to his ex-wives or his sons. Stamatakis is not the saint he has led some to believe. He humiliates people to hide from himself and the truth about his past. Only time before some exposes him.
